    Id verify the tach is working corrcectly and was speed by GPS or the dash guage (which are like +/- 8 mph ) ? If you are indeed higgit 45 in that rig I bet your tach is off. I wouldnt buy anything until you verify the numbers

    I think you have a two bbl carb not 4 bbl as no manifold ofr 3.0 exists that takes a 4 bbl carb. If your idle mix is too rich this can cause them to foul like this.     .045 thats what I run on my mercruiser with same heads and plugs. Thats what you ran these tests at and seems to be working right? I honestly dont think you'd see a difference between .035 and .045 gap in this setting anyways....

    these fittings take the blue plastic drian plugs for winterizing. You can also remove this fitting and just use a 1/4" pipe plug

    What makes you think the oil needs to be changed? Is it black? You may be getting fuel in there via running overly rich carb wise or if you may have fuel coming in via the fuel pump diagraphragm if ruptured.
