    Which propeller brand?

Re: Which propeller brand? I would try a 20in Mercury Enertia. My glastron 195 sx with VP I/O came with a 21 inch. The Enertia has better hotshot and top speed than the stock prop. Also the boat rides higher in the water and the prop rares lets go of the water unless trimmed way too far out.

how fast should my 82 procraft fish n ski go with 82 evinrude 150 hp

Re: how fast should my 82 procraft fish n ski go with 82 evinrude 150 hp The rpm range for that motor is 4500-5500. 5800-6000 is a bit high on it. A 23 would drop you down about 400rpm. With a performance SS prop you could raise the engine off the transom a couple of holes that will give you...

Do I have a better option? Prop Selection Question.

Re: Do I have a better option? Prop Selection Question. your motors' WOT rpm range is 5500-6000. You are right in the ballpark rpm wise. The 17 is a little small but will be an excellent prop for sking. Just be careful not to pull anybodys' arms out of their sockets. Personally I swear by the...

    Confused on Evinrude 140

Re: Confused on Evinrude 140 Not to worry about the overpowering. The crank rated 140 never put out more tha 130hp at the crank on the best days. They could get away with calling it a 140 because it was within so many percent of the rated HP. Later when it became a proshaft rated engine it was...

    Shoppers beware. VEC warranty

It is not worth the paper it is written on. My 2002 POS 195SX, in 2002/2003 developed some gelcoat cracks in the transom area. The dealer arranged repair of these cracks. Several other areas were also repaired. In 2004 one of the cracks reappeared, much more pronounced and has spread in a...

I was at the local Ski Nautique Dealer on Saturday. I noticed that right beside the filler cap was a sticker/decal stating NOT to use any gasoline that has ANY type of alcohol in it.

    19 or 21 pitch.

Inline or V6? " gets a bit rough at 45" how so? If the boat does't handle well, going faster just raises the risk.

    2bbl to 4bbl swap

Well i finally pulled my 2bbl Holley off my engine and replaced it witn a 4 bbl. Install went fairly smoothly. Pulled the 2bbl off and dropped on the 4bbl. Had to fabricate new fuel line, and modify throttle linkage. Fired it up on the muffs. It ran pretty good, now to put it in the water and...

    WOT rpm range

If the Manufacturer specifies that an engine has a recommended WOT rpm range of 4500 to 5500 why do some posters on these forums insist on proping the engine to turn 6000+? They drone on and on about overproping, but never about the stresses of overrevving. Since the manufacturer states 4500 is...
