    You need both parts of the block.-----And putting new rings on an old piston is a bad , bad idea.

    Google---us composites 2 part foam----Will give you an idea on cost of foam.------Winnner boats used plastic containers ( size of loaf of bread ) under the floor for flotation.----The ideas will come from others here.

    The foam is part of the structure and sound deadening.-----PVC pipe might be an option.-----But others may have different opinions.

    When you operate the fuel primer valve , fuel is put into the engine intake.-----This fuel bypasses the metering circuits in the carburetors.----This suggest to me that you need to revisit carburetor work !

    I do not see the comet sticker so it is a 9.8 I think.----Has the typical corrosion damage on wires.-----Install a new impeller before you use this motor.

    A 9.8 HP from 1980 / 1981 is my bestest guess.----Is there a sticker that says ---COMET----on the block ?---Comet was a 7.5 HP model.----Or measure intake ports.----The 7.5 were smaller diameter compared to the 9.8 models.----Your location ?-----Or should be easy to find on E-bay.

    Don’t do this please.

    I guess there are lots of folks who look up the towing capacity in the manuals.-----But the manuals do not say when the vehicle is 12 years old ( perhaps run near salty roads ) that towing capacity changes.-----What was say 9000 lbs is now 4000 lbs.----Just my opinion.

    Easy to do in my opinion.-----But then I have done lots of them.---- And have quite a few of the V-4 that are for rebuild / parts.

    A boat like this is often owned by someone who does NOT have a fuel budget.-----Could have lots of hours on it.---Lots of hrs on Lake Erie ??-----These engines are easy to rebuild.---Parts are everywhere.-----That is my opinion.-----The issue is finding a local shop to do this if you need that...

    The generator and voltage regulator could be transferred to his 68 model 40 HP
