I think it is a great set-up with the 2 Evinrude V-4 engines.----But we all know that these engines suffer from broken rings when the hrs add up.-----Compression test results should be taken for future reference.----Post the numbers here.
Most vehicles do not need ---" full throttle "----to run at highway speeds.-----Look at videos of haulover inlet boats.-----50' boats with 4 outboards.----That is full throttle stuff.
You did put a new impeller in the water pump I hope.----First thing that needs to be done on a ---" new to you outfit "-----Stern drive or outboard motors should get a new impeller about every 5 years at the least.
The 3 bronze bearings in the 5-1/2 and 6 hp are well designed / sized for the job.-----Have had numerous of those engines apart for inspection.----Never an issue with them.
On the new boat show room floor that appears to be in the $80,000 range.-----If you got it at the right price than lots of work can be done.-----I sure would tackle that.
Some folks spend thousands each year playing golf.----Nothing to show for it at the end of the season.-----Some will spend time working on a boat to give to the grandkids.----All depends on your upbringing and your priorities I guess
Correct----On direct injection motors only the gasoline is injected into the cylinder after ports are closed.-----Oil is totally seperate and inhectted where needed.-----It can be said that these motors are in 4 stroke mode for part of the crank rotation.
