    There is a little square vapor pump. ----Seen right above the thingy with the red lever. -----That little pump came out in 1967 on small motors as a fuel pump. ----It was adapted to get rid of vapor on those motors. ---Repair kit is available.

    That little pump is so good that they used it from 1967 to 2005 on many models.

    If the charging system is working it should show 13.5 / 14 volts.-----A fully charged battery reads 12.8 volts.

    I have looked at that set-up since about 1968 or so.----Flat side has always faced up !!

    Step #1 is to install a new water pump impeller.-----Look at the warning horn.----Does it have an electronic circuit?----If so , the horn itself might be defective.

    It be OK to run without a prop.-----Just don't open the throttle too much.----And make sure water is well above the impeller.----Like 6 to 8" above.----The factory repair kit ( yes it is available ) has comprehensive instructions.----Nothing to it.

    Do not run this motor until you determine the issue.----If carburetor is blocked you are starving one cylinder of gasoline ----AND THE OIL !

    Had someone here yesterday to pick up a motor.------Airline pilot and drives an electric car, a GM product.----Drives 2 hrs each way.------Not an issue if he starts with a full charge.
