    I think I will go electric for my next new car ...

    Wonderful stuff.-----If an electric car runs at highway speeds for 3 hrs ( say 20 HP required ) to do that.------Then when you plug in to recharge it will need 20 HP applied somewhere for 3 HRS. to the grid.------I do not believe the grid is ready for 5 millions cars going electric next year.

    Answers needed.-----Does spark jump a gap of 3/8" on a testing device ?----Testing device can easily be made at home.-----Are you familiar with how the manual primer on the motor works ?----Does that primer pump fuel into the motor?----Perhaps test the primer valve.

    I can not see or hear your motor.------So what happens when you operate the manual fuel pump.-------If crankcase compression is low than pump may not work.

    There is very little that can go wrong with those pumps !!!------A new diaphragm fixes them in most cases.-----Yes the diaphragm is available all day long.

    Those little fuel pumps mount directly over the PRESSURE pulse port from the crankcase.-----And one visible port for fuel in and one visible port for fuel out.

    You do not need an ignition switch.-----If it starts / fires you might need to choke it to stop it.-----Water pump impellers need water on them or they will be destroyed.-----But if this turns out to be a runner you would install a new impeller regardless.

    Pumps behave according to rules and physics,-----They do not work the way some folks think they do.

    Your local machine shop can make that part.------Brass / delrin / nylon / aluminum, etc.----Then use a brass shear pin and go fishing.

    Nope-----Once the pump is primed and the boat is moving it is a different story altogether.------And I have worked on many different machines and pumps.------Pumps with 3000 HP and also 12,000 HP motors driving them.
