    Nonsense------The oil pump does not pump enuff oil to fill the carburetor as the carburetor is running empty !!!!

    What you are dreaming of will not work !------Time for you to check some parts books to see if powerhead gaskets are the same.----Or crankshaft splines are the same.-----Or to be blunt , I would like some of the stuff you are smoking / drinking.

    It is essentially the same fitting.----Standard OMC / Johnson / Evinrude hose fits both tank and motor shown in these pictures.

    ???----Compression bleeds off quickly in any cylinder.---------Sounds like the check valve on your gauge is kaputt.-------Perhaps test with another gauge.

    Someone tried to repair it before.-----Time to find an expert to put a proper repair plate on the inside of hull.-----Perhaps an airport in your area with a shop that can deal with this.-----Any way to get to this area from the inside ??-----Any other spots on the hull with this patch work repair.

    Correct there are 2 oil seals on bottom crankshaft bearing housing.---Replace them and perhaps the bottom ball bearing as well.

    Did copper tube come out with the pump , yes or no ?----If it came out , it needs to be installed into the exhaust housing first.----And in a bucket the water MUST be 6" above the impeller.

    Well there are some V-4 motors ( 60 degree loopers ) that are different.----Johnson / Evinrude parts are the same.----Your statement that " all Evinrudes are 1" shorter " is just nonsense to me.------Time to talk to a shop that is willing to help you find a lower unit !!

    70hp 1988 Evinrude (sometimes) doesn’t start

    A service bulletin came out in 1994 to move tell tale fitting from side of the block.-----A new location is on top of the block.----Latest water pump kit has all the details / instructions.----Before you spend another beer token , take the cylinder head of to inspect cylinder walls.
