    They are a handful to pull over on a stand.---Easier to do clamped on a boat.----I merely tried to help by suggesting the electric start option !

    Well----I can see the notch in your picture.----Properly assembled you can NOT SEE THAT !----And do not worry about forward or neutral.---Just position shift rods to give you maximum working room.

    Which cylinders were low on compression ?---Did you determine the cause of this failure.----Did you correct the problem...---Coils suspect , then test them !----Does spark jump a gap of 3/8" or better on all leads ? ----Run with a timing light one cylinder at a time and observe spark.----Open...

    RTV does not belong anywhere near a carburetor !----I did not see your work.----So I have to ask.----Is the orifice plug inside the carburetor bowl clean ?

    The motor would have the electric primer valve.----Pushing the key in while cranking would be the same as using a spray bottle.

    It would depend on the system.-----Yes I have mounted the Mercruiser / Mercury outboard pump and reservoir inside the boat for the mid seventies OMC trim units.

    Take these simple steps.---------Run with a timing light one cylinder at a time.----Observe the light.-----Run with air box cover off.----With a STRONG FLASHLIGHT observe fuel coming up the main nozzles and compare.---Perhaps test run with another tank and hose.-----Install new fuel pump diaphragm.

    There really is no such thing as a " tune up " any more.-----Electronic ignition .----Timing does not go out of adjustment.---Fixed jet carburetor.----So post compression test numbers.
