    It is debated all the time.----Always a lively discussion.-----I will always say that lubrication / mixing oil with gas is not well understood.-------Smoke coming from a motor leads most folks to believe there is something wrong.----You have to wonder what scientific work determined that one...

    With good strong spark the plugs won't foul.----This lubrication in 2 strokes is just not well understood.

    It is up to the operator to select the correct propeller to allow the motor to rev properly.----Power / speed / load seems to be near the top of the list of things that are confusing.

    No I would not do that !!------Just put a TEE fitting on the hose that goes from tank to the pump.----I guess I should have explained that better in post #2 above.

    Yes.----Talk to a proper shop for a info on a kit to block off the opening after you pull out the pump.-----No point talking to a 21 year old clerk at AMAZON or the INTERNET.

    That system was also used on the 4 cylinder 50 and 4 cylinder 80/ 85 models.----Used on the inline 6 cylinder to 150 HP.----Nothing wrong with that system either.

    If motor is running too slow ( not at it's rated RPM ) it will put less load on the gears.----Not good for pistons and rings but no bother to the gears.

    That system was used for a number of years.------Bonus is that the pump / motor is safely out of the elements inside the boat.-----Nothing wrong with this unit.

    Hitting something is bad for gear teeth.------The propeller just moves water and that is the load on the motor.----2 or 5 tons does not matter.-----They just do not make this stuff as strong as they used to , in my opinion.

    I can not see or hear your motor so here goes.-----Was there a severe overheat on this motor ?----Did you replace the plastic washer at the top of the water tube ?----Power head needs to come off to inspect replace this washer.----Easy job in my opinion.

    Sorry----12 volts from the battery is NOT needed to make spark.------Spark comes from the magneto if the starter turns the flywheel at 250 RPM.---Or the motor can be started with a rope if battery is completely dead !!!

    Sorry I can not see your motor.----Bring it over as I say this is easy to diagnose / fix.----The primer valve get fuel from the pump .----The carburetor bowl get fuel from the pump.---2 separate hoses.

    You are getting totally wrong information !!!!---You do not have to take the motor apart to remove the pump !-----And you are correct in plumbing the discharge of the pump to the intake side.--I have suggested this solution more than once--Bonus is that if you sell it it is easy to convert back...
