Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Tonight I sent an email to the lady doing my seats weather she was going to be able to do them (it's been 1 1/2 years since I dropped off the new back to back bases). She emailed me a pic: Yea! I'll have seats by Xmas!!!

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Gone some cutting, machining, and drilling done at work yesterday on my rear battery box/seat/splashwell panel. One more Saturday morning should get it done. I don't have everything tapped yet so the box part is not screwed together yet. There...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration A little epoxying tonight on the console panels, takes a few more steps doing the over drill, fill, redrill method. I'm trying to do the "do something every day" like Jas'. Seems to be working!

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Thanks for the input guys, I'm going to go through and add a correctly c'sunk rivet next to the ones that are in there. Then I'll drill the tall ones out and they'll get filled with epoxy when I seal the deck. EZ, I've always liked the looks of...

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Good point. I'll have to see if it like you said pushes the whole rivet down or just compresses the tube of the rivet. If the latter, I would think I'd be OK, but if it loosens it, then yeah, not so good.

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Maybe another option.... Two good whacks with a hammer, perfectly flush. I'll do some testing on some scraps and determine if this weakens the hold or not. Maybe this plus adding a few c'sunk ones? It doesn't look distorted, just pushed...

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Yeah, me neither. It's hard for me to say "good enough" and look the other way... Well, what I'll prolly do is drill, c'sink & install a new one right next to the current ones, then drill the old ones out and fill with epoxy. Can I put the...

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Yeah, looking back that was probably a mistake not doing that, I'll have to think about this. Did the rivets you used have a c'sunk head? Or did you use the regulars and just c'sunk the wood?

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Been working on a few things. First my rear seat/battery box, got a couple uprights machined. This structure will be so overbuilt to the point I may be able to add a ski pylon later (somehow). It's solid 1x2 aluminum. More progress to come...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Yeah, great idea for the handrail. An 18"-er will fit nice on top of the gunnel back there and I think be right where you'd expect one to be. Going to look them up and get'em ordered tonight!

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration We're getting closer to paint, almost all the trim is on now... I had a revelation on my rear seating, going a different direction I think. I'm going to build a box around the batteries, and put a fixed seat cushion on top of it. On either...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration So I got this ratchet mount for my antanae... Looks a little goofy folded down cause the mount is so tall. Something like this would be nice if it existed, just a single hinge with the tightening handle....would be much lower. I just took...

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Gluvit might be a little thin. Can you see a gap? I was thinking 3m 4200 with a fine tip. I have to check and see if it's paint-able. The antanae will go next to the windshield starboard side. The thing I dont like is with a ratchet mount...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Port rub rail channel cleaned up and installed tonight. Looks just like the pic above, but on the other side! Picked up a box of screws for them on my way home. Grandad, I did consider bedding them, but that probably would have ended up messy...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Had a few minutes tonight. Finished cleaning up the starboard rubrail channel using zipstrip, a power washer and soap and water. Loosely mounted now, It seems I misplaced the screws for it.
