Congrats, looks great! Also nice job on how quickly you finished.

    1981 Springbok 18' Restoration/Renovation

I bought a 316 stainless bow eye off Amazon that was a close fit to the original. I had to squeeze it together slightly in a vise to get it to fit though. Make sure that the other hardware with the eye such as nuts and washers are the same metal to prevent galvanic corrosion.

I finished assembling the wood pieces of the head: For my first sewing project, I made a snap-in EVA piece for the dinette. I backed it with black vinyl made for chairs to roll on (wasn't really sure what to use) with 1" sunbrella binding. The sewing is imperfect, but it was good practice...

    Fuel tank installation

I would think it would depend on adhesion of the strips. If your tank has to be shoved into place, you don't want the rubber strips being knocked out of place.

    Livewell and Interior design brainstorm

Deep cycle batteries weigh 60-70 pounds each, so you'll have some listing to the livewell side. I also run a small boat for fishing and move my coolers around to help balance weight as needed.

Minor update: I've gelcoated most of the cabin interior, and it has surprisingly helped A LOT with the outside heat thus far. Previously, it was unbearable past 90 degrees in the cabin, and now it's like being in the shade with the portholes open. I've decided to go ahead with insulating the...

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

The styrene fumes are nasty; it makes me feel hungover the next day if I get too much exposure. I bought some organic vapor cartridges since my cabin boat is has poor ventilation, it does help a lot.

I'm using white FRP for the headliner with 1/2" foam and reflectix underneath. I'll secure the FRP with 1/4" varnished cedar planks using SS screws and finishing washers. For the ceiling lights I've already installed, I bought some nylon standoffs/spacers to make them flush mount; I kinda wish...

Maybe stick some newer decals on your motor?

Saturday, I used vapor barrier to make templates for the V-berth and dinette cushions: My Singer 15-91 has been rewired, gears re-greased, new brushes installed in the motor, and thoroughly oiled. It appears to be running great, so I can hopefully start learning to sew on weeknights while...

The keystone cushion wood warped a lot (2.5" bow) after sitting a week. I don't have access to a steamer, so I experimented. I soaked the concave side of the bowed piece with antifreeze and weighed it down with buckets of water for six hours. This actually worked in fixing the bow, so I added a...

    Bent Transom

Aluminum is very prone to work/strain hardening, so bending it back may do more harm than good. The correct fix would be to replace the damaged section of aluminum. If you want to risk fixing it, I would pull the motor, and use either a porta power or a comealong setup to carefully pull it back.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

I like to use PL whenever the temperature window for poly resin isn't right, but having a heated shop would negate that.

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

It sounds like a Teleflex steering system, pretty ubiquitous on older boats. I would spray some fogging oil in the cylinders and worry about it next year.

Still plugging away here, but the weather has not cooperated on the weekends. I wasted a lot of hours trying to remove all the old carpet glue in the cabin, which I'd been putting off. The only thing that finally worked was a wire wheel in my drill. Still slow and messy, but most of it is gone...

Wild. I know some off-the-wall ideas float around here sometimes, but concrete stringers in a little glass boat is pretty special.

    Hot compression numbers are: 8: 148 7: 156 6: 130 5: 148 4: 130 3: 145 2: 150 1: 154 I'm not sure if cylinders 6 & 4 are bad enough to reevaluate keeping this motor.

The engine not cranking was only the relay before the starter solenoid having gone out. I was able to start and run the engine for 30 minutes tonight, and the cooling system and everything else seems in good order. I'll get warm compression numbers tomorrow.
