    Tee shirt or a medal.

After having spent an incredible amount of time wrapped around my engine with my hands down in the bilge working on removing a starter on my mercruiser, I think that anyone who has done this deserves to get a tee shirt or medal, acknowledging this superhuman feat of patience and ambidexterity...

    Compression test.

Completed a compression test this afternoon on the engine in my 87 Celebrity Calais. It has the 305 block engine and has 400hrs on it. On cylinders 2,4,6 and 8 they measured 150 #. On cylinder 1, 140 and 3,5 and 7 we got 145#. I'd say thats pretty good. Not? Adjusted the timing and air fuel...

    Alpha 1 outdrive oil seal

Took that out and put it back on the drive shaft, but then saw that the lower oil seal was ripped. Anyway getting a new seal tomorrow. I am assuming that the...

    Work has started!

Re: Work has started! Change of plan. You all know the saying, "In for a penny, in for a pound." Well after short deliberation we made a corporate decision to strip the trailer down to the bare bones and give the frame and the axles a paint job too. 90 minutes later we had everything striped...
