Does ACR exist to charge start battery bank only if the volts drop below 12.45?

I dont want it charging the start battery all the time. I will turn rotary switch to the starter bank to OFF. My car can sit for weeks and always starts fine. All this battery does is start the engine(s). Means when I want to start up, I have to move the switch. The alternator output is directly...

Does ACR exist to charge start battery bank only if the volts drop below 12.45?

I have been thinking as to why charge the start battery bank all the time even on a small charge, it is not needed. And if the charger has issues, the start bank can be overcharged. So does an ACR exist that would allow charging like below 12.45 and stop charging when volts are fully charged...

Dual station electric oil pressure gauges read low and other issues

I notice when I turn the key to on, the oil gauges move up to read maybe 10 lbs? Without the engine running. I have mechanical gauges and they read normal, about 10 to 15 lbs higher I checked the sender ohms, and it reads 120 ohms with engines off, so they are dual station senders. I swapped in...

will a severely barnacled hull prevent engine from reving up to full speed?

The hull of my 37 foot boat is loaded with big barnacles which has hurt our forward speed. I found out yesterday on the water that the engines wont rev past 2500 rpm doing a WOT test. I remember years ago they would rev slightly past 3000 rpm. They dont miss overheat and run smoothly with good...

aluminum hot water tank on boat

I took it apart since the sheet metal was rusting and noticed some small corrosion where the fittings screw into the tank. How do you feel about aluminum for water? I don't drink the hot water and the storage tank is stainless steel, and the pipes are all copper. I read that aluminum plaques...

fuel water separator almost worthless for ethanol laced gasoline?

I was just thinking about this. It takes only a small amount of absorbed water for the ethanol to phase separate out of the gas. seeing it is at least 10 % ethanol, that means in a 100 gallon tank, 10 gallons of ethanol-water mix will be sitting on the tank bottom. That is too much for the...
