    Rec gas prices???

On gas in general, we all complain about the higher prices BUT we still do the things we do with our cars, trucks, motorcycles, and boats to some extent. One of my vehicles only gets premium (and ethanol-free now that its easier to find) I've only driven it twice in the last year or so. My new...

    Trailer lights troubleshooting help

Agreed, a kit with the basics and either get another spool of the wire or get more white and brown wire to run a second ground and tail down the right side. Splice them together at the split of point on the trailer. And running a ground to each light is similar to running a separate hot and...

    New Boat For Christmas

We are ready, just bear with me on the exact day and time (it will be videoed) I'm done with all I can and have planned to do on Riff Raft. I got all the tools out, trash and junk picked up (no matter how neat you are these projects always generate junk), floor inside and out vacuumed. Here is...

    Rec gas prices???

I don't have access to any vast tracts of wood so this fake fireplace (electric space heater with a "light show") I have here will have to do for the "wild nights" of the horizontal hula (but its much more comfortable upstairs in the Master Suite) no natural gas lines in my neighborhood and I'm...

    Trailer lights troubleshooting help

When I brought my "new" boat home all of the lights worked but as I was going through checking everything (and I mean everything) I found a right side tail on the left side with its drain on top, other lights weren't submersible so a complete rewire with submersible LEDs and the trailer ground...

which bilge pump do i need with a manual / auto switch

Knocking a little bit of dust on this one 😁 My "new" boat came with a pump on a switch so I went a step farther by adding a float switch and replacing the switch on the helm with an auto-manual with circuit breaker. The manual side only works while you hold it down and the auto is lit with an...

    New Boat For Christmas

The marina just down the road has quite a few year round boats in their covered docks and those likely have bottom crud. Another lake about an hours drive away, the home owners have covered docks with lifts. I don't know if that is required or not but those boats I'm sure are clean enough to eat...

    New Boat For Christmas

Epoxy paint hmm, whatever type I use will be applied with a roller and one side done at a time (propped up off the bunk) Either way it will be done off-season and not right now Oh and I can remember a friend's Grandmother had a lake house she lived in full time with the given dock and boat...

    New Boat For Christmas

Hangin' like a one-armed monkey here, I can see the tunnel at the end of the light. Last night I even saw stars (no not them⭐) whilst driving 🔨 in the spring pin into the top of the pump, and at an awkward angle (I needed another hand) me thumb got in the way, a few choice words later it was in...

    New Boat For Christmas

I've got the plates installed and the motor bolted to and screws cinched down, it ain'ta goin' anywhere. now to install the lift gizmo and the harness. I do hope that the motor being less than 1/16th of an inch off center won't matter. I also had to use an extra backing bar to take up some...

    New Boat For Christmas

Yeah it grows on ya and no, it ain't the easiest stuff to dig in, it was even a challenge for my little digger that goes on my weedeater motor I've got the transom plate bolted down good and proper now with new bolts and regular nuts with a lock washer. I slathered some more 4200 on the bolts...

    New Boat For Christmas

Thanks Willy. The Admiral gave me a shocker today (well, yesterday) we were out finishing up her project of new bushes across the front of the house, a Gardenia transplant in a stone circle in the front yard and flowers around the mail box post, removing the river stone in these areas and...

    New Boat For Christmas

One more postponement but I think yall will understand this one for sure. Since there was no tilt or trim function on this outboard motor (they were available) so I sourced an aftermarket unit and also sourced a brand new pump / lift unit and figured I'd go ahead and install this now or I'd...

Just bought this pontoon from dealer, got home with no straps on back !

I went the other day and bought a pair of straps with a max rating of 3000 pounds and safe limit of 1000 pounds. That should be plenty for a transom hold down strap

    New Boat For Christmas

Almost to the splash point, I'll have me truck back (LOL) in a day or so, leg is healing up fine (partly due to gittin' old, not in the mind though). I'll be sure to take plenty of pics of everything and since it'll likely be on a weekday there shouldn't be much traffic at the two ramp marina...

    New Boat For Christmas

I haven't done the splash yet, update here. I've had to take a break due to some ongoing health issues here, Clutzy me keeps bumping my leg on something (used to not be any issue UNTIL 'betes reared its head) Leg is better now and not weeping after a round of antibiotics meds for infection. The...

Just bought this pontoon from dealer, got home with no straps on back !

I had an Uncle who would use seatbelts out of wrecked cars, unbolted at either end with the buckles and either bolted to the trailer frame or used some heavy duty steel wire hooks to attach, he worked in the steel making industry and could get ahold of most anything steel related and other than...

Just bought this pontoon from dealer, got home with no straps on back !

Your end of story story is good, glad that it worked out for you two. I looked at some of the contraptions for backing up the bow winch and this is what I came up with, simple to operate and release, same size chain as the hitch safety chain
