    Yes. It might be a bit more difficult to keep running right after start up, but copious amounts of Priming prior to starting, will help. but expect a few stalls

    The Needle is part of the Inlet Valve, the other part is the Seat

    Welcome to iboats Did you set the Float Correctly? Is the Inlet Seat tightened, and a gasket used? It the Needle of the Float/Inlet Valve in place? Is the Float free to move so as to be able to Close the Valve?

    Looper Engine. As racer said, compression test. Also does the engine have Spark, good enough to jump a 3/8" Gap? As mentioned, clean all the Electrical Connections between the Battery and Starter, and clean the Bendix and lube it. Is the Battery in good shape, still having most of it's Capacity?
