    OH NO!! Now the Cross pin is jammed on Trim Rod.

    Just took me a week to get seized transom bracket off.Now cross pin that holds shaft on trim rod to motor is Jammed tight.Any ideas how to get this off.Motor trimmed up for TTpump repair and not much room to swing a hammer.Pin was in flush so no nail head to grab.Thanks for any ideas/help. 88 V6...

    Transom Bracket seized on tilt tube..Any Ideas?

    Gday,I've got a V6 Mercury and having trouble getting transom bracket off tilt tube on starboard side.T.Tube nut came off and bracket won't slide off....won't budge at all.Any ideas welcome.

    G'day all,setting my timing tomorrow after carb rebuild.Says to set idle in gear in water.Can I do this at home in a large bin of water.Can't see how to check it in river,unless I'm standing in water.

    G'day all,ready to time engine at cranking speed.Can someone tell me correct way took hook both remote start and timing light so I don't damage anything....including myself. Also do I need to have ignition key turned to ON position.88 V6 Merc.Thanks for any help.

    .462 Mark.Dial indicator Question.

    G'day,never used a dial indicator before and was wondering if the .462 mark is at 5.30 position on the dial indicator or a fraction past zero. Can I use any dial indicator to reach correct result,or only merc one. It does sound like a dumb question though manual is vague. Thanks Paul.

    V6 Carb rebuild.1988 135 HP....snapped Fitting.Cant find part.

    Snapped T fitting on top of middle carb for enrichener system.Is this thing threaded or fixed,snapped right at the top,so cant see thread.Does anyone know where i can find this part.Everything was going so well till this happened.....very %#$@^ off.Thanks for any help. Model # 1135412 BD.

    Hi all,Currently servicing carbs(duel bowl).all stripped down and cleaned with carb cleaner,rinsed in water then rinsed in solvent then blown out with comp air gun as per manual instruction.My questions are. 1.Is Mineral terpentine ok to use as the solvent? 2.When adjusting float level(1.6mm)...

    Testing reeds on V6 1988 135 HP

    Servicing carbs,so decided to take off Reed Block till noticed missing bolt.Found half the bolt still in thread....now what. Decided not to mess with it.Is there any tests I can run without taking block off. J.Martin suggested the blow suck method on hoses...which end. Thanks for any help.

    Tilt up or down when storing?

    I tilt down,though on my street its 3 to 2 in favour of up.I know down is under highest pressure.Am i putting undue pressure on my trim cylindersand seals.Found my main tilt ram leaking last week...not happy.:facepalm:http://forums.iboats.com/images/smilies/facepalm.gif

    Dumb Carb questions

    Parts finally arrived from US.Ready for carb rebuild (gaskets,needle/seat replaced).All my hoses are on with cable/zip ties.Do I just yank em or try and cut ties.Also when cleaning do I use any carb cleaner.Do I just spray cleaner or drown/submerge over night.

    What strength compressor do I need for blowing out carbs etc.Just bought a 12 volt 36 Ltr per minute.....laughable...sending it back tomorrow.I'm thinking maybe 8 - 10 CFM/ 220 - 280 litres per min.What do you think?

    Power Trim Manual Release.

    G'day All, My Power trim system (Eaton Pump) got stuck half way up due to lack of fluid and air in system.Turned manual release 3 or 4 turns and it lowered gently to full down.Tried to lift motor by hand and could not budge it,not even an inch.Can I keep turning more turns anti or have I done...
