    No they dont . the 4 hp is 87 cm³. The 5 hp uses the same 164 cm³ power head as the 6 and 8 hp engines

    Isn't that that what you'd expect on the basis that a 1" diameter hole is 4X as big as a 1/2" diameter hole

    A restrictor plate was what I was thinking of. On the size of the hole my thoughts were that since the aim was to reduce the power to 0.8 of the original the hole would have to be √ 0.8 of the diameter . ie about 0.89 of the diameter, Reducing it to 2/3 would reduce the area to less than 1/2

    Switch off main switch. Connect voltmeter to the two small terminals on the solenoid. Switch on main switch If no reading on voltmeter but starter runs the solenoid is faulty If voltmeter reads battery volts, or nearly, start button or wiring to it, is faulty

    A 2013 Yamaha will be a 4stroke won't it ? If so a bit poorer acceleration as well as being 8 hp less power If it has the wrong prop then performance will be much poorer. Probably a lot heavier but will use a lot less fuel

    There has to be a vent. If there was not or if it is blocked what you observe will happen ... The carb will flood even though the bowl is not filled to the correct level but are you sure the needle valve and seat are good.

    It maybe that the driveshaft is stuck ( rusted) into the crankshaft but the 85 model has a better seal arrangement at the top than earlier models so should not be rusted in. If it really wont come free brute force will cause the impellor key to wreck the pump housing so be prepared to replace that
