    Anyone ever sell on Craigslist?

I just posted a sale on there for a lift unit for a Force 50 hp outboard. I'm hoping I don't get a bunch of wackos!

Is it ok to list something for sale in the forums?

I have something that I think people would want to buy, but wasn't sure if posting it in the appropriate outboard motor section of the forum was allowed. I did a quick glance of the forum rules and didn't see anything stating it wasn't.

    Question about my winch post.

Does this look like an ok set-up? I know I've read that the winch strap should be below the hook eye, but obviously I can't do that with this post/winch combination. Also, I know that the whole post needs to be moved closer to the boat.

Yea or nea on floor foam replacement?

Well the time has finally come to install the floor in my project 1967 Starcraft aluminum hull. Do you guys, many of whom have ALOT more experience at this than me- feel I need to replace the foam that I removed? It was two inch thick sheets of styrofoam and was waterlogged and falling apart. If...

    A question about TuffStuff...

I'm having a real hard time deciding whether I should go with a vinyl over my new plywood deck or if I should use TuffStuff. My main question is do I have to roughen the surface of the plywood first? I put two coats of waterproofer on both sides of each piece and yet I still can feel the texture...

    2x4's or 2x6's for bunks?

I'm going to be replacing the rollers on my trailer soon with bunks. I've got the brackest, but I'm unsure if I should use 2x4's or 2x6's. The boat is a 16' aluminum starcraft from 1967.

Help me pick my vinyl flooring.

Ok, so I'm going to probably be putting the new floor in in a week or two and have decided that I want a good, tough and non-slip vinyl flooring to cover the new plywood. I figure it'll be fairly easy to lay down and will help protect the plywood. Yes, it's ( the plywood ) is going to be sealed...

Anyone ever use Rot Doctor's CPES?

Thinking of using this to seal my new floor before final installation. It says it'll cover between 200-300 square feet per gallon. It also completely seals the wood from water. Any info/tips?

Tips for converting an old roller trailer to bunks?

Probably going to convert my crappy roller trailer to bunks this spring before the srping striped bass run starts and was hoping for some tips/advice. Can it be done for not much over $100? Here's the link to photos I posted previously of the trailer: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=225715

Let's see pics of those CMC PT&T'S!

The power tilt on my 1988 Force outboard won't keep the motor lifted for more than fifteen minutes due to a leaky seal at the top so I'm contemplating biting the bullet and buying a CMC Model 130. I know it's over $500, but I contacted one of the board members and he said it could take up to...

    Carbureator rebuild kit number question...

I have a 1988 and a 1990 Force 50hp outboard and was wondering two things: are the carbs interchangeable, and do they use the same carb kit numbers? Will the kit include a new needle and seat?

So, how many of you have damaged your lower units on your outboard motors?

I have a spare complete outboard that came with my boat I bought last summer and I was wondering if I should hold onto the lower unit "just in case" or if damage to them is pretty rare. It seems when the lowers for these outboards sell on Ebay, ( 50 hp Force outboard ) they always fetch ~$200.

    Anyone with JB Weld experience?

I have some holes in my aluminum boat that I want to use JB Weld Marine on. IS there a temperature that is too LOW for it to set up and harden at?

How involved is changing the powerhead....

On a 1988 50 hp Force outboard? I'm kinda toying with the idea of replacing mine if I can get a good deal on a rebuilt one. And no, before you ask, I haven't done a compression check on the one in the outboard now. I'm rebuilding a 1967 Starcraft 16' aluminum boat and when I'm done, I want it to...

Stock prop size for a 1988 Force 50 hp outbaord?

I recently posted a topic asking about rebuilding a factory prop, but I see that I can buy a new one from the Iboats market for about $130. However, I don't know what size is stock, so I don't know what step up I should/could take.

    Difference in prop pitch?

What effect does increasing prop pitch size have on the speed of a boat? For instance going from a stock prop on a Force 50 hp outboard to one that measures 11 1/2" of pitch?

Dumb question about 1988 Force 50 HP outboard...

I have a 1988 Force 50 hp outboard Model 508V8C. What kind of hub do I have? Is it like most where it can wear out, or is it mounted directly to the output shaft? Yes, this is my first boat so try to keep the snickering to a minimum if you can, please.

Best way to repair these holes?

Obviously, they leak- alot. I was thinking about prepping the area and then epoxying in a piece of sheetmetal over all of the holes. Once it's cured, it ought to be a permanent waterproof repair, right?

    Paint removal in cold weather?

I'm looking into stripping the paint off of my 16' aluminum Starcraft, but all the paint strippers I see say to use above 60 degrees. Is there anything I can use at lower temps? I live in New York and the weather is going to be in the upper 30's to mid 40's soon.

    Trailer mounting woes...

As you can see by the pics, my boat does not sit properly on the trailer. The boat measures 16'. It doesn't touch the starboard set of rollers at all and barely touches the port side. Also, as you can see in the pics, two out of the three center keel rollers are shot. Would this effect the way...
