    What difference is a 9 1/4 x 8 prop on a 15 hp evinrude compared to a 9 x 11 prop, and are they exchangeable on the same motor. It's a 1986 motor. I was told either would fit. Thanks for your help.

    I have a 1986 15 hp Evinrude that I bought and it starts and idles fine, I haven't tried in on the lake yet,but in a 30 gallon barrel, it seems like it smokes more than usual, but I'm not used to running in barrels so was wondering if being confined just appears to smoke more from exhaust?     15 hp Evinrude idle problem

    I have a 1986 15 hp Evinrude model E15ECDE that does not idle fast enough. It runs perfect in both gears, but seems to not be idling fast enough to keep from dying. Any suggestions would be appreciated.<br />Knobby
