Missing transom bolt on Mercruser outdrive to bellhousing.

Yep I can understand why. If I had not made a return trip to the marina where the boat was docked it would have been sitting on the bottom by the following weekend.

Missing transom bolt on Mercruser outdrive to bellhousing.

The engine is the GM 350, so there isnt a lot of room. I cant even see where the bolt comes thru the transom. I am not even sure I should be able to see it. The motor was rebuilt 3 years ago and has less than 50 hours on it. It was rebuilt before I owned it. I did check with the marina that did...

Missing transom bolt on Mercruser outdrive to bellhousing.

Does anyone know of a "fix" for a missing bolt in the outdrive. It needs to be able to go thru the transom and expand as tightened kind of like a hollow wall fastener but a bit stronger.

Missing transom bolt on Mercruser outdrive to bellhousing.

This past weekend my boat started taking on water in the engine bay. When I pulled the boat up out of the water and onto the trailer I noticed that one of the bottom bolts that go thru the transom at the outside mounting bracket was missing. My question is with the engine installed I cannot even...

I have a 1989 mercruser tops out at 3000 rpm

I have a 1989 mercruser 350 cu in GM that will not go above 3000 rpm. It gets the boat up on plane but 3000 rpm is all it will do.

I have a 1989 Invader stern drive that I am trying to fix the trim tabs. The pump runs but does not send fluid to cylinders, does anyone have an idea where the relay might be located? I have searched the engine compartment with no luck

Mercruser 1898 5.7 with thunderbolt ign problem

I have a 1989 5.7 sterndrive that will not accelerate above 2,000 rpm. The ignition module was changed recently. I now find out that I may have paid for the wrong module as there are two different types. One has advance and one does not. The new module has three wires where the one that was...

1989 Mercruser 5.7 will not get over 2000 rpm

New development, I found a wire that looks like it goes to the sending unit just to the left front of the distributor. If this is the oil pressure sending unit and this wire was off, could that be the problem with getting more than 2000 rpm?

1989 Mercruser 5.7 will not get over 2000 rpm

I just replaced the water fuel separator filter and drained a lot of water out of the bottom of the fuel tank. Motor starts fine and has good oil pressure, water temp is 160F. I open the throttle wide open and all it will do is 2000 rpm.

new vs. old thunderbolt ignition sensor

Today’s update: I took the fuel line loose at the carb and turned the engine over. I got nothing, nota. So it appears on top of the ignition problem, the fuel pump may be an issue as well. I put a little fuel in the carb and while the engine was trying to run there was no fuel coming out of the...
