    Don't like using Muffs, your thoughts on this idea?

    I couldn't find a flushing tee for the 1" I.D. inlet hose to the stat housing and had a bad impeller housing at my disposal so this is what I will try. It's about a 2 minute job to pull the impeller and put this on. I'll leave the muffs on with the valves closed to force the H2O toward the engine.

    I had my steel impeller liner spin in the housing on the last trip out. I used contact cement to both surfaces to hold it in place but it must have not been for wet use.     Have had about 2 of these a year in the garage over the last 19 years (that I've seen). It's an Arizona Sun Spider but it's not a spider or a Vinegaroon. It's a Solpugid. This thing doesn't care how big or bad you are, it will come after you and you will back off. Killed this one yesterday...

    impeller liner to housing adheasive?

    What works best to keep the steel impeller liner from spinning in the housing? Mine broke the tabs and rotated enough to block flow last trip out. Had to beach it and McGiver to get back to tow rig. :facepalm:

    1999 Sea Ray 21' EC..looking at buying

    My Daughter and son-in-law are looking at purchasing this boat. It has a 5.0L mercruiser and alpha 1 drive. What should they be aware of other than the obvious - condition, hours, etc? Haven't seen it and no pics.
