Re: Water pump options to replace obsolete impeller I often Marvel at the drawings that are provided here by members to help give a visual to the instructions. In an attempt to visualize my previous post for the cooling system modifications, I offer the drawing below. I did not have access to...

    how long should it take?

Re: how long should it take? With the right equipment at a friends shop, This was easy. That's a 6' ladder. No pics of taking it out but it took me 4 hours to get it ready for removal while getting familiar with what a boat engine has hooked to it. About 50 trips in and out of it.

Water pump options to replace obsolete impeller

Re: Water pump options to replace obsolete impeller Was setting the base timing on the distributor install and the engine seemed to be getting hot with the muffs and water on. When finished I pulled the impeller. Looks like I'll be needing the crank driven pump and hull fitting sooner than I hoped.

    Would this be ethical?

Budget is tight this Christmas and need to buy toys or better for the grand-kids. Do you think I would be in trouble with the rest of the family if I bought them boat parts and when they wonder what to do with them, I offer help on installing them on my boat?

Spitfire to points type distibutor ignition conversion

I want to eliminate the spitfire ignition on my engine. If the crank sensor fails, I am dead in the water. I would rather the timing ring just be along for the ride. For those of you who have done this, what products did you use, how was the tech support and how do you reconnect the circuits...

    Fuel pump not keeping up

454 with new fuel pump and rebuilt Holley 750 CFM is running fine until you get it over 1500 or so RPM. The fuel pump voltage should be 12V +/- .1 per the service manual and I am only getting 8.5-9.0V. The fuel pump relay is powered by the "light" terminal on the alternator and the "S" terminal...
