    I looked at a fish finder / map unit a few years ago.----It had a small lake ( 3 square kilometers ) and in the middle of nowhere loaded on it.----I have saved in my favorites a word map.----Shows just about everything.----Argentina, Antarctica , Australia ETC.

    Remove lower unit for water pump impeller replacement.----Drain gear oil and pressure test the gearcase.----Take action as guessing does not work.

    No surprise to me.------I refuse to use a plastic tank in my boat.-----Give me a steel tank made by OMC in the 1960's / 1970's ----Just good stuff not affected by the sun !!!

    I think it is simple.----Some of these tanks today have ---JUNK----pick-up tubes inside.

    Those lower units are easy.----I was repairing them at 18 years old as mechanic at a Johnson dealer !-----Is water 6 or 7" above the impeller in your test bucket ?----Thermostat in place ?

    Should not need an Eska with that fine 66 ( ? ) Johnson on the transom.

    Inspect pick-up tube inside the tank.

    Mixing gas and oil at 50:1 ?-----Or is VRO in service and tested ?-----Or conventional fuel pump mounted directly on the intake manifold ?

    Is the gasket between the carburetor and block the correct one ?----Some have 1 wee hole for the crankcase PRESSURE pulse.----It must line up correctly !
