Charging a LiFePO4 via an Inverter

A LiFePO4 battery, depending on the battery, can absorb over 100A. No outboard alternator could source that much current without damage.

Charging a LiFePO4 via an Inverter

As long as the inverter output is high enough for the max charge of the charger. I would only use an inverter that was a pure sine wave inverter. Do you have the specs for both the inverter and the charger? Overloading your alternator would be the biggest concern. Personally, A WAY better...

    Trailer Load musings

This is why you weigh your axles and your tongue weight instead of guessing. Waiting until you trailer gets into a crazy dangerous sway after you do an evasive maneuver on the highway is too late.

    Bellow condition??

The problem is...if they do leak, you are going to possibly have thousands of dollars of damage as the water in the bellows will get into your drive as well as possibly sink your boat. Cheap insurance to replace the u-joint bellows every 5 years or so...per DonS(RIP).

    2025 NFL/CFB News and Nonsense

I didn't think UCLA was going to win a game this season let alone a game where we were a 24 point underdog.

    Bellow condition??

I changed my Volvo bellows every 6 years on DonS's recommendation from many years ago before he passed.

    Trailer Load musings

My boat weighs around 6500#. I have 600# on the tongue(measured with a Sherline scale). That's a little over 9%.

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

We have a normal drive from our house in Los Angeles to Lake Tahoe. Basically have to stop twice for 20 minutes each on the way up and twice for 15 minutes each on the way home since its downhill. We actually end up stopping longer since we have to let the dog out a couple times anyway. Takes...

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

You think people were trading in cars that were worth more than the average $4200 voucher that they got for it? Would you trade a car in that was worth $6000 to get a $4200 voucher?

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

LOL...the only vehicles taken off the road were the ones that were worth less than the buyout amount. My brother brought in his chevy pickup and the suspension failed on the way to the back lot. The main purpose of the program was to revitalize the auto industry in the great recession...

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

Out of curiosity, where are you located? I have the truck but the SUV version outsells the truck by a huge margin. I love it and have had zero issues in 12K miles(knocking on wood). Some people have had some issues. Fortunately for me, I live very close to multiple service centers. When the...

My Rivian has a port near the trailer hitch. You open it and there are two wires that allow you to "jump" the car's 12V battery to allow you to open the car and it will charge the internal 12V battery that runs all the car's computers.

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

What happens when you pick up a nail on the trip? That is where they are most useful. On my F150, I picked up a razor blade. TPMS warned we when I got down to 40 PSI which gave me enough time to get off the highway out of traffic. Tire was able to be saved and know damage to the wheel. Without...

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

Before I had TPMS, I picked up a nail. I had no idea the nail was in there and letting the air leak out until the tire was on the verge of shredding itself. That is the value of TPMS whether it be on your car or trailer.

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

TST 507 with screw on sensors is what I use for my boat trailer.

That's for your car...won't do a thing for a trailer.

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

All vehicles sold after 9/1/2007 are required to have TPMS.

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

I always use a TPMS on trailers. With my 2024 GMD 2500 Denali, I have the trailer TPMS integrated with my vehicle. For my boats , I uses a TST 507 system. Can save LOTS of damage.

Why would you be stupid enough to put on the e-brake in your garage would be my first question. Second, why wouldn't you be able to open your hood in your garage?
