    4.3 mercrusier wires go to??

Looks like a TKS model... I'll go with alternator output for orange (if original wiring) and maybe trim limit switch? Need to see where they go... Yeah, don't do that 😄

350 Magnum - exhaust riser damaged brass plug

Just turn the engine over. If waters in there it will spurt out and drain the cylinders.

Maintenance - New owner of 89 Mercruiser 4.3L Alpha One

Those prices are shockingly high. Get any standard grease gun and marine grease for most things. Look around the forums for a lively oil debate, but most here don't use quicksilver oil. I grudgingly use either QS or sierra high performance in the drive. The lube pumps are pretty much the same...

    Mercruiser lower reinstall, small problem

Yes, that washer is an escape artist. I've used any ol washer multiple times. Not a precision piece, just needs to lift up that shift shaft enough to engage the shoe. (I also may have used a zip tie for a time under the lip on the shaft as a temporary fix to raise it up)

However a tbi doesn't have fuel rails or a return line either

    1987 CHRIS CRAFT AMEROSPORT 284

    1. No. And you'd need to pull the drive to fix anyways, AND you should be pulling the drives as normal maintenance AND you should for sure pull them on a new to you boat. 2. Bad fuel is typically suspect #1. Would try running off a jerry can, and maybe swap carbs since you have twins. Did you...

Mercruser 1898 5.7 with thunderbolt ign problem

Also, the sensor that you got doesn't control advance, it's the actual module. Unlikely to be the problem

Where can we launch in the Chesapeake Bay?

You ever make it up the Potomac? I'm near Westmoreland State Park. Tends to get sporty past Coles point, so I don't usually go past there unless there's nothing but a light southern breeze...

    Ready to ride, summer projects?

That's what I thought. Edelbrock is advertised as being dual plane. Do you still have your adapter on the exhaust? Do you have an a/f gauge installed or did you just do it for testing? At this point I've rewired damn near everything. Probably didn't do that connection because a) it was still...

    Ready to ride, summer projects?

Well, hopefully this is the year of "fun" boat work... Last year after getting swamped, I had it running decently by the end of the season. Had a shifting problem that I was unable to resolve--too much slop in the lower. Today I swapped a spare lower. Replaced impeller housing and base, pressure...

    trouble getting reverse.

The gen 1 was replaced by the gen 2 part. You need both the bushing and seal, old bushing needs pressed out and new one pressed in

    Mercruiser 3.0 starter

I for sure wouldn't bother getting the old school heavy version rebuilt. The PMGR starters are soooo much better in every way. New one is around $100.
