    You "checked" the fuel water sep.....If you removed it ,you should have replaced it.If the vst was as dirty as you stated then that is telling you something.....I have never seen one as dirty as you stated.     I have had ZERO luck with any interstate battery I have ever owned .Every one has failed in less than 5 years with absolutely no warning at all.Cranking on Monday and dead on Tuesday.If Interstate batteries were half price on sale I would still take a pass on them.Charlie
