    Couldn't tell from the description whether this was the shift cable bellows as well as the drive shaft bellows. You can also get water into the boat through the shift cable

    Yes, shifting is difficult with engine running or not. So does the starter need to be removed to access the shaft (guessing yes), and am I on the right track?

    Seems like you have an expensive project boat there :) I would simplify the wiring until you get it straight. Disconnect solar, physically isolate your house batteries, remove as many switches as possible, etc

    Start with spark, move on to fuel... Which are you missing when it won't start? And assuming you mean it won't run, not won't crank

    The PMGR starter doesn't use the brace on the vee engines, not sure about the 3.0

    ? I haven't heard of RV coolant being used in a closed cooling system. That stuff is for winterizing, not heat exchange AFAIK.

    The math doesn't work if the gas consumed to get to the beer > cost of beer consumed.

    There are plenty of other reasons for an intermittent problem to show up. This is easy to test, just hook up a timing light.
