Twin Merc. 6.2 Mags with Bravo 3 - EMCT Temperature Overheat Fault - Port side Manifolds (Only)

CATs or No CATS the exhaust on those engines is expensive, since they are Mercruiser's design and not available from aftermarket providers (yet?) You are probably getting close to when the exhaust will need replacement in general.

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

Much of the wiring that I need to go through is located in the Starboard electrical panel. The whole thing is going to need some serious cleaning . . . I don't know how it got so grimy in a mere 5-6 years. . . . . . Here is the 40 amp fuse that we have been talking about . . . (Yellow Arrow) .

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

I’m surprised it is 40 amps, that seems like a lot. The #12 wires that connect to it would be fire ready before the CB comes to the rescue 🤔

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

I would really like to find a section of the helm power feed that matches the Diacom ‘Battery’ value (which seems to trail the system voltage by 0.6 - 1.1 volts). If I can find that voltage then I may have isolated the problem. I agree messing with the wires has improved things, but there is...

Yes, I am wondering if the elements are getting to it and causing a little bit of voltage loss?

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

The retaining nut is different than the one above it, which matches the rest of the boat's CBs. That is why I was thnking it was replaced. I did not see anything in the work order hisdtory that I have on the boat. So, if it was replaced, probably during the original owner's tenure. (3-4 years)

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

Here are some pictures and other information to help address some of the questions. Controls and gauges/displays . . . . . . . . FireBoy/Halon . . . just the light. Not sure if they are connected or not. . . Looks like there is a purposeful feed to the DTS . . . I still have to trace it...

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

As for the steering angle indicator, which does not seem to be working, I believe there is a steering angle source selection in the VesselView settings menu. . . . PCM0, PCM1, PCM2, etc and TVM. I will try different choices to see if it makes a difference.

Thanks for your comments and assistance @muc and others (y) I have contacted CY Tech Support (via email) regarding the helm power, and have also asked for the diagrams for the V.V. Gas and the Merc Gas cable kits. Those don't seem to be in what they already sent me. I have not noticed how...

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

Following up on one of the questions about if either engine can charge the batteries. . . . It looks like there is a 2 alternator, 3 battery isolator in the wiring diagram. So, It would seem that either engine can be the source of charging power to the engine and accessory batteries. The...

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

See my answers below . . . 1. Have you tried disconnecting all batteries except engine batteries? I have not, but it would be a good test of my theory on the helm power. I am wondering if I can/should just shut of the house and inverter batteries or actually disconnect them for the test...

23-24 foot vs 26-28 foot pros and cons?

You should be able to Google boat specifications that give you the basic dimensions, weight, and deadrise at the transom (V-angle) Bigger engines can be more fuel efficient than smaller engines, if they are a better match for the boat. If you have a smaller engine, it will require you to use...

23-24 foot vs 26-28 foot pros and cons?

I started at 24 feet and then went to 33 feet. I currently have my third power boat and it is also 33 feet. I/O powered . . . The 24 was single and the 33's are/were twin engines. For rough water handling, you want to have a hull that is 22˚ . . . a 20˚ hull will be a bit too flat and 18˚...

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

One other thing of note . . . In my testing, I have noticed that if I turn off the Starboard engine battery there is a slight buzzing that comes from the area of the relays on the top of the engine. (I had the cowls off so I could hear where the noise was coming from). If I turn off the...
