    Yes, that is what I figured. So if the sender gets full of water (salt water) it will drag the 5 volt reference down.

    I use regular gas, always have . I often would get gasoline at gas stations for use in the boats, rather than the marina gas. Never had a problem.

    Sounds more like an engine alarm than a Glastron alarm. Tell us what engine/outdrive you have. The only thing that you might check that would be boat specific would be a high water alarm.
