    LiFePO Batteries ???

From my experience with lipo batteries, they do not want high charge rates...that is one of the past problems.. My chargers use a steady rate and taper down as needed. Another reason to have the proper charger. I would never charge directly of an alternator, to much variation, a good seperate...

I paid 1200 for a mint condition 40 Johnson 2 stroke, ran great, sure was a lot cheaper than 4500 for a 4 stroke and faster as well. Last year I bought a boat with 2 stroke, 4 cylinder Merc 40 hp, awesome engine, idles smooth down to a crawl, oil injected so only smoke on initial startup...

    40 year old transom… recommendations on wood/epoxy/etc.

No pressure treated lumber as those chemicals will react with the aluminum !! I would use exterior plywood glued together to make the right thickness. Plywood will be the strongest!! Others might chime in on other materials, but for me...plywood all the way !!

    Boat Disposal

Creating the fiberglass is no where near as bad as cutting it up !! When it is sawed, ground up etc the fine dust and fibers gets into the lungs and doesn't dissolve, they just keep wearing away the insides if the lungs as it is abrasive.

The drive should never be all the way up when running an I/O, puts undo stress on U joints and can cause early failure.
