    Ayuh,...... You'll need a full blown BBC, 'n possibly a different drive to get to the speeds yer lookin' for,..... To start, you oughta go through the boat, 'n remove any clutter that's gathered over the years,...... Then moisture check the transom, stringers, 'n flotation foam...

    Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,..... I've never seen a coupler blow, with a Bang,....... Grown, 'n grind maybe, or smoke to beat 'ell,.... But no bang,.... The u-joints, or upper gear set, I've seen go Bang,...... But,..... The stallin' in gear, Vs: runnin' Ok in neutral kinda says...

    Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,...... What they said, ^^^,...... Buy yerself an SEI Alpha 1 replacement drive, slap it on, 'n go boating,...... Btw,.... If yer MC-1 has the shorter input shaft('bout 8", vs: the Alpha's 9" shaft,) you'll need to swap that out on the new drive,.....

    What about at the key switch,..?? It excites the slave solenoid,.... Is the control lever in Neutral,..??

    Ayuh,...... Ya got the cart before the horse don't ya,..?? Ya gotta build the long block, Before any computer tunes,..... Are ya plannin' a full on reman on this 350,..?? I s'pose ya could swap a cam, but swappin' pistons usually requires machine work,....

    Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,...... Go back to the keyswitch,...... Do you have 12v power at the red wire on the batt terminal,..?? If so, with the key turned to "Start", there should be 12v power on the red batt wire/ terminal, the purple wire/ terminal(ignition), 'n 12v on the red/...
