Hydrolock, swim platform, riser height and static water line question

You seemed to be focused on water entering the cylinders via the exhaust . . . Maybe it is not. You don't seem to be getting a lot of water, otherwise you would have experienced a hydrolock and the resulting damage to the engine. Perhaps the water source is within the engine  . . ...

Welcome tyo iBots . . . Yes, you will regret waiting, if you buy the one with the 4.5L

    Toilet Installation Mishap . . .

yup . . . it seems like a design shortcoming on the grommet assembly, now that I've taken a longer look at the whole thing. These are the less expensive model Kohler . . . As I recall, the last toilet I installed (4-5 years ago) was about $100 more than the ones I just bought. As I recall, it...

    Toilet Installation Mishap . . .

Thanks guys . . . I went the JB Weld route and used their "strongest" epoxy. It will have 2 weeks to cure before I attempt to mount the tank, so we shall see. The grommet shapes are a bit confusing, as they require a bit of 'squashing' and I think I squashed them too much.

Need help finding new boat max 8.5 beam

Greetings . . . Not sure I understand your question  . . . (Sea Ray) Sundancer 270's are 27 feet long (+/-) . None longer unless you have an extended swim platform. I think they are wider than 8' 6" beam though.

    Toilet Installation Mishap . . .

Yes, tightening just didn't feel right . . . the bolts weren't pulling through the grommets as they should. I'll have to re-engineer on the next one. Still looking for a miracle adhesive though . . .

    Toilet Installation Mishap . . .

Today I was replacing a toilet at the summer house. All going smoothly until I went to install the tank on the bowl. I over-tightened the bolts and managed to snap off the flange of the bowl for the rear bolt (3 bolt tank mounting). . . So question of the day . . . I assume I can get one of...

    Water under floor somewhere

Welcome to iBoats . . . This Aquasport you mean? Certainly possible that you have water lurking in the hull structure. Full inboards (v-drives?) ??? About how many inches is the boat off to starboard at the waterline? Is there any gear that you can you can move to the port side...

Volvo Penta GXi-E Low Power and 2 DTCs

BTW - as far as fault codes (DTC's) even though you clear them, they will come right back if the issue still remains. . . as you may have figured out.

Volvo Penta GXi-E Low Power and 2 DTCs

I loaded my Diacom SW and ran the recording . . . The two '41' codes are present as stated. This engine (MEFI-4) is a lot newer than my engine (MEFI-1), so I'm not familiar with some of values . . . Here is a clip of the values while the engine was run up to WOT and then back down. It...

Volvo Penta GXi-E Low Power and 2 DTCs

I'll have to load the Diacom software to my new computer ( I got rid of the old one that had it installed). . . but I can possibly do that this weekend. Fault code 41 is the EST ignition system, but it sounds like you have replaced a bunch of stuff related (and unrelated) to the EST fault...

    2007 Larson 370 Cabrio

Another thing you may want to do is learn more about how boats are built. That way, in evaluating used boats, both now and in the future, you can better assess what issues you may have in owning and maintaining a boat. An important aspect of a boat's construction is the material used. Wood...

    2007 Larson 370 Cabrio

I have a 330SS. It is a bit bigger than the 310. The 310 is a nice boat, and I believe it has a better ride than my boat since it is a 22 degree hull.

Go big or go home. 🤪 You will certainly be on a steep learning curve, so take it slow and be safe. Remember . . . boating is dangerous, and only looks like fun. :D

    2007 Larson 370 Cabrio

My thoughts . . . Not your first boat I assume? What are you coming from as a previous boat? Bottom paint is a thing in salt water. Props too. Raw water cooled engines in salt water will give you about 15 years of use, then there is too much rust scale within the engine for it to be viable...
