Help help - my tank is stuck...

It takes about 1,000 lbs of force to break a foamed-in tank loose. If the tank is confined at the ends, your only hope would be to dig enough foam away from under one end so that you can get a lifting strap (5,000 +/- lb rating) and then put some 4x4 lumber across the opening to provide a...

    Bravo 3 prop nuts

Good question, but no . . . There should be a plastic ring in the outer part of the nut, which is like a 'nylock' nut. That should be facing away from the lower unit. The beveled side goes toward the propeller it is securing (i.e. the lower unit), so that it along with the beveled collar...

    Web Server Needs a Re-boot ???

Getting a lot of 404 not found errors, then if you hit refresh/reload the page it comes right up. Other similar issues with postings and pictures over the past 2 days. I am wondering if the server is getting cranky and needs a quick nap and a re-start :noidea:

    Time to re-upholster - Formula 330 SS

Progress Update . . . It has been slow going, more so than I had anticipated. I had to make some cuts in the engine hatch/rear seat to accommodate the brackets that I installed on the rear seat backrest/hatch. . . The area of the hatch lift support has broken through the plywood at some point...

    Time to re-upholster - Formula 330 SS

Slow going today as I was taking care of fastener details. I added a belt loop to hold the pull strap for the aft hatch in place. . . . . In general, this helm seat is a PITA to assemble . . . and it weights a couple hundred pounds all said and done  I did manage to get one of the...

    Time to re-upholster - Formula 330 SS

Here is the mid-section (i.e. backrest) cover loosely fitted onto the seat frame. . . I'll be stapling it tomorrow. This one was pretty difficult to make. The color combo came out OK though IMO.

    Time to re-upholster - Formula 330 SS

    Time to re-upholster - Formula 330 SS

I got the other helm seat base done . . . similar to the captain's flip-up seat, but no flip-up. Now getting ready to do the remaining 2 pieces of the helm seat. I am still playing with some design options and came up with this one . . . less green not as radical a design. Might be easier to...

    Time to re-upholster - Formula 330 SS

Helm seat base . . . This is the helm seat base which swings up to provide a higher vantage point for the captain (me) . . . I used the original vinyl pieces, as with the helm seat top piece. So, far, so good. Here is the seat and the skin ready to be attached. . . Here is a look inside the...

    Time to re-upholster - Formula 330 SS

I used some steam to take out the inside curve wrinkles . . . . . I think I can do a little more steaming, but they look OK for now.

    Time to re-upholster - Formula 330 SS

OK - thanks guys. I'm working up a third option as well. In the meantime, I made the top piece to the helm seat, since it was going to be pretty much a copy of what was there. . . The inside corners need a little work. I can probably get some of the wrinkle out with steam.

    Time to re-upholster - Formula 330 SS

Here are a couple of options that I have come up with so far . . . Option #1 - More green . . . An interesting thing is that Formula Boats upholsters the entire back side of the seat. Yet most of it is concealed by the U-shaped seating , as shown by the dotted lines. . . Maybe I can do...
