It looks like our next boat is still a few years away, so I am thinking about doing some enhancements to the current barge, a Formula 330 Sun Sport. I always wanted an extended swim platform to get the people out beyond the outdrives, as they present a mild hazard when doing the sandbar thing...
Transom assembly . . . Looks 'interesting' in that the leak is coming through a hole in the assembly, just below one of the mounting studs.
Some possibilities are:
1) Leaking outer seal on the transom assembly
2) Rotting transom
You could drill a couple of small (1/4") test holes into the...
Thanks AD. I got it sorted out.
There were 2 set screws. I was able to get the TP down to 1.2% with the set screw and then I was able to loosen the sensor, tweak it and re-tighten it to take out the rest. 0% 0.55Volts
Here is the Diacom readout . . .
I then buttoned everything up and took...
According to my Mercruiser P/N searching, the TPS looks like this . . .
I did not see any like images in the links, but maybe I need to look deeper into those web sites. I did see the eBay links. :thumb:
I got a TPS error code ( I think it was code 24) on my starboard engine (as I mentioned in my ECT Thread). I also got a MAP error code (I think it was code 33) I didn't write the codes down before I cleared them.
Anyway, I am seeing occasional high idle and surging from the starboard engine...
Update:
I added the resistors and took the boat over to get some gas and give them some sewage :)
I also used my FLIR One to verify some of the temperatures.
Here are the gauges at cruise
Here is the starboard Engine temp where the ECT is located (engine idling) after cruise
Here is a...
I found your boat's cousin this morning . . . sitting right next to my dinghy. :D
It looks like the sailing version, since it has a Centerboard Trunk and a hole in the forward seat for a mast.
Quick update:
I found a chart for the VDO temperature sender to get an understanding of the sender's resistance over the temperature range.
As you can see the resistance change vs. temperature change is non-linear, but the 160 - 180 F degree range is of most interest. Since the resistance...
Looks like you are on the right track, baring any deviations from the wiring, or if it has been altered by a previous owner, etc.
You should see voltage and a physical connection of the wires from the switch and the float (red circle below). Additionally, when the float switch is activated...
I received word through my web site from an iBoats member that is in the UK. He said that he can no longer reach the iBoats site, that it is ‘blocked’
I had not heard of such a thing. Just wondering if that is a country thing or if it is specific to iBoats, or operator error of some sort...
Thanks BT. :)
I did a bit of searching back through some of my pics from a few years ago . . . I think I found the answer to my question about the ECT vs. the Helm Gauge
The ECT and the Helm gauge are separate senders located in close proximity, but slightly different parts, of the...
I had a hunch that my temperature gauges were reading a bit high vs. what the MEFI module was seeing via the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. So, today I hooked up the computer to my engines to compare the ECT reading vs. the temp gauges at the helm.
Engines are per my signature below...
The 2013 Explorer with towing package should have the hitch already installed, looking something like this . . .
Just have to remove the bumper cover. No need to spend a dime, except for the 7-pin to 4/5 pin adapter ($10) :thumb:
We anchored at the usual place today. Plenty of sun and calm seas. After a while we noticed this boat across the sandbar.
Appeared to be a man and a woman on the boat. I guess they didn't know about tides :noidea:
At 5 O'clock, it looked like they had about 4 hours of tide until they...
The boat seem fairly new for Bravoitis, but maybe. It does not sound like anyone has checked the oil & PS fluid coolers for clogs. I'd look there to see if there is a blockage.
does the scan tool show the engine temperature that the ECM is reading while underway? Has the operating...
