QuickSilver Dual Controls - Shift Interuppter Issue ???

Update: I went to replace the 2 ignition switches on my boat today and when I opened up the dash panel I found that the terminals had quite a bit of corrosion on them. So, my thoughts were that maybe the corrosion is the issue not the switches. Here is a close up of the starboard engine...

    Measuring RPM

:welcome: You can go with the every OTHER setting . . . i.e. 4 stroke. BTW - which RPM monitor did you get? I have one on my modified snow blower. It is a Searon HM038M

    water temp issues

:welcome: See if you have got any impeller fragments stuck in some of the chambers of the thermostat housing. Also, make sure the 'insert sleeve' (red arrow in pic) has not spun around from its proper position.

    Stupid newb hull repair questions.

Just following along . . . I made a couple of pics that I *think* should depict the intended repair. The purple being the cloth layers and the pink being the filler (CSM, PB, etc.) So, I assume what we are looking at in the recent pics is the 'filler' (pink) Not sure that is helpful, but...

    Advice needed

Here is a picture . . . The key thing is to have a large center section where the engine will mount. Often you can make the section breaks at the point where the engine mount stringers meet the transom. that way you will have a strong transom structure and still be able to fit the wood...

    I found my old boat . . . .

UPDATE: I found my old boat AGAIN  :) I happened to be looking through Formula boat listings on CL to help a buddy of mine find one, and wouldn't you know . . . I came across my old boat. It is definitely mine based on some of the unique markings on the boat and trailer that I could see...

Just purchased 16ft tri-hull, Any suggestions on a brand for new rollers???

Here is a set that you can order (as many sets as you need) right here on iBoats. they have the inserts for both common size spindles. Wobble Roller Kit, Amber - Tie Down Engineering these are the non-marking kind, so they won't leave marks on the hull

    Moeller fuel tank questions

Yes, those are 'indentations' not holes. I assume that is what you are seeing :noidea: They are for support and provide some baffling. I assume the 'holes' are not open to the tank internal. Let us know if you see otherwise

QuickSilver Dual Controls - Shift Interuppter Issue ???

I have the QuickSilver Dual Controls on my boat, which I absolutely hate . . . They are showing their age, and today I noticed what could be a growing problem. . . Cruising along at about 3400 RPM ( 38 mph) I noticed that when I put my hand on the control to adjust it slightly the RPM of...

Johnson 4.5HP- double check model year and water flow...

I have the same motor in a long shaft (J5RLCSS) and it DOES have the pee hole. I happened to be running it yesterday. :) The pee hole is located above the exhaust port. Maybe the motor that you are looking at has a clog.

Repair or Replace a Ritchie Compass

Update: I had the boat out today . . . the bay was very flat, so it made for a decent opportunity to install the new compass. Took a lot longer than I was planning (2 hours vs. 30 mins), but it is done. The wiring for the panel lights was a bit tricky to get at and splice, which took a lot of...

    This Motor Sounds Broken . . .

The extended family fleet includes a 2010 Grady-White 305 with twin Yamaha 350 4-stroke V8's. Yesterday, one of the engines starting doing this after cruising for about 15 minutes while slowing down to anchor near shore (so coming off of planing speeds as far as I understand it). Not sure of any...

adding freshwater cooling to stern drive: doable? and what advantages?

Here is what my SJE "MC-324" kit looked like . . . It is pretty much the heat exchanger, hoses, and fittings. The 'risers' are part of the engine, not the cooling kit. The key difference between the systems for different model engines is in the capacity of the heat exchanger.

Adding electronics to 2016 Tahoe 215 Xi

Is this it ? Not much area to put anything extra . . . Don't see any fasteners, so I am wondering if the wood grain panels are held in with blind snaps of some sort, or possibly are fastened from the back side. Is there a panel underneath that can be removed?

    Bravo 3 High Speed Overheat

Are you in salt water or fresh water? It would be pretty easy to see a 'kink' in the hose if you have the boat out of the water. It would be pretty hard of for the hose to become kinked since it is formed to the shape of where it needs to go and is held captive in a slot within the Bravo...

Repair or Replace a Ritchie Compass

OK, I found what looks to be the part diagram for the compass. The compass was completely empty (no fluid remaining) so I am thinking it may be the diaphragm (part #3) that went bad :noidea: Looks like there is a dome o-ring and a fill plug o-ring as other potential culprits. I guess...
