    Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... Those are weep holes to let any water outa the casting, so it won't freeze, 'n bust,..... Leakin' oil from there, it could be comin' from the upper unit, or under the water pump, or from the shift spool,....

    Ayuh,..... As Scott said, that's probably a sign of bigger problems with yer transom,..... Get yerself a new garboard plug, 'n plate,.... Knock that one off, with whatever means necessary,.... Then probe the area, diggin' out any rot, til ya find solid material,.... Dependin' on how bad it...

    Ayuh,..... No color opinion from me, But,..... You do realize, that the anodization will need to be scrubbed off with a ssteel wire brush, before repaintin' it, if you expect the paint to stick,..... Paintin' aluminum is a real pain to get right,.... I'd probably leave the cabin trim...

    Ayuh,..... The OMC Stringer drive had many inhert oddities that were not loved, 'n it went obsolete in 1985,...... Very few parts are available for it, as well as the marine hardware for the motor,.... If that's a 5.0l Ford, it's even worse,....
