    based on the pictures you have shown, the hull is rotten. post pics of your stringer repair and transom repair. if the floor was rotten, the transom was rotten 10 years earlier.. boats rot from the bottom up. first to go is the bottom of the transom, then the stringer, and lastly the floor.

    its considered normal maintenance like spark plugs. only takes a short bit of time to drop the leg and change the raw water pump.

    the shop truck when I worked at Cummins was just a lowly 2002 24 valve 5.9 liter 3500 rated at 15900# routinely pulling a bit more than that.... I think it got replaced shortly after I left with over 450k on the clock They make DPF delete kits...
