the factory wiring for the engine to the key switch is in the factory mercruiser manual.
however the wiring colors are standard and the wiring color to function is in the electrical stickies.
check voltage at your switch as indicated in post #4
FWIW, I am also 54. the boat in my Sig was my 4th fiberglass boat transom job and a few years later it turned into a complete resto-mod.
I will most likely do it again because I am broke as a joke. Currently working on a small tinny
per the manual.
change engine oil and filter
drain the block and manifolds and hoses
you are now winterized
of you want to add antifreeze, use a funnel and introduce to the block/heads/manifolds via the hoses at the thermostat housing
the big J hose and the hoses running to the coolers need to be drained
yes, you need to use a good PG AF and leave in the engine.
if you have a brand new engine, why did you not install a heat exchanger?
It freezes in Florida and Texas. It definitely freezes in Georgia
Many people that have boats hanging in boat houses have bilge heaters
If your boat is in the water, it's going to be fun until the water starts to freeze
welcome aboard.
not normal.
at 75psi, the motor needs to be taken apart
the seapage looks like gear oil coming out where water would drain. to your lower needs to come apart.
The best is Woodonglass's "oldtimers formula" 1 part boiled linseed oil, 1 part spar varnish, 2 parts mineral spirits. let it soak in for a few coats, then cover with spar varnish.
