Frozen engine manifold cracks and likelihood of block survival

since the dealer was too dumb to winterize, I would run away even if they offered a new motor because I would not trust them to swap it correctly, however that is your call the block and heads did NOT survive. being a post 2014 mercruiser designed block, that motor is only available from...

here is a side view of the carb. the newer ones have hex screws, the earlier ones have slotted scrws. the whole kit is holley part number 703-036, however you only need the two blue gaskets. you can buy a two pack from Summit and with shipping, etc. have it to you in the UK by Friday...

    which carb to upgrade/replace too

the part changer at the dealer (can not call them a mechanic) did not clean out the accelerator pump passage. on a holley, that is on the bottom of the fuel bowl and first to plug. you are describing a failed accelerator pump circuit. again, your carb is fine, just needs $10 worth of cleaner...

    which carb to upgrade/replace too

What is your compression? What is the fuel pressure? What is the timing set to? Dying on WOT is most likely fuel delivery, not the carb Doubt the carb need replacement. Been wrenching on Holley carbs for over 50 years Summit racing can get you jets in 3 days from the states. Can even get...

Identify the thread of this screw from my boat

since the OP is in the UK My guess is he has the caliper set to 1cm or 10mm or just past 2x the diameter. a #10-24 would have a thread pitch of 10.58 threads over a 10mm lenght

    outrrive alignment tool

you need a shaft alignment tool. an outdrive wont work well, not enough leverage to initially align the bearing. all input shafts of motors 1991 and later are the same dimensions of the tool in the stickies

    Engine dieseling

Things that cause run on Rich fueling Improper timing Running hot The big problem with run on isn't that it happens, it's that last gasp and death rattle when it finally dies. That is the motor running backwards and sucking in water Check your plugs, if they are black, change them and...
