    Proper Boat Grounding

bonding wires (Green or Green with yellow stripe) tie the hull, motor, zincs water, etc. to the negative side of the battery. they are there to tie them all together to the same potential for galvanic reasons. the potential between the ground terminal of the battery and the hull/motor/etc...

Switching from Volvo TBI to Carb on a 1996 5.7 GI

the other thing for more power if that is your goal. upgrade the heads to vortec. your boat may be a 1996, however the picture in post 16 is of a 1986-1995 intake (non-vortec). most likely your motor has 1991-1995 swirl port heads if your block is an 880 block, then your motor is a 1995...

How Can I Prevent Fouled Spark Plugs When Running at Idle for a long time?

what color are the plugs? white, tan, black? is it fuel fouling or oil fouling? is it running too cold and you are getting condensation? are you suffering from reversion? you should be able to idle for perpetuity unless either your carb is set too rich, your ignition system is not up to...

Switching from Volvo TBI to Carb on a 1996 5.7 GI

Seriously, if you want more power, while ditching the TBI, Get a bigger cam, get the marine Edelbrock carb, a 1-1/2" carb spacer and swap to a 750 cfm 4-barrel

Not with the stock cam If you go Edelbrock manifold, make sure it's the marine dual alloy version

    Good Ear muffs

they all leak, and with the hose on high, it should spray about 10 feet from behind the muffs until the motor is started. the quicksilver ones will NOT work on the earlier AQ series drives. they do make Volvo Penta specific muffs. you still need a rubber stopper for the bottom pickup, and...

    Proper Boat Grounding

that is correct. except for bonding wires, you NEVER pass current thru the boat. it will literally dissolve from galvanic corrosion.
