    I don't think it's the starter, it's something else Did you rotate the motor enough by hand to look at all the teeth on the ring gear? Put a voltmeter on the starter post and crank the motor, how low does the voltage go?

    Might be other than the quad ring hole. Is shift shaft seal good, pump housing leaking?

    If your sure the gauge is close enough to be correct, than there is a blockage somewhere and the water heater was just coincidence

    Pull the connector off and look at the pins, many times the pins become corroded This is where it's good to know actually which 4.3 your have. Being a 2005 and you saying it's a carb than most likely has a TKS

    Don't know for sure but my Rinker had a switch added by the dealer. The issue is the digital depth gauge would get messed up, and to fix you would turn it off then back on It looks like same thing

    There is a quad ring in there and they can get stuck. All you can do is pull and wiggle.

    Agree Start measuring and cleaning connections. Might start with the key switch, than with the 10 pin engine connector
