    Does spark jump a gap of at least 3/8" , yes or no ?----Load tested the battery?----Inspected / tested the starter motor?

    A---" crossflow "-- has a deflector on the piston crown to direct incoming charge to scavenge the cylinder.-----A looper has a flat / nearly flat crown and intake ports positioned to loop the incoming charge.

    Compression varies from motor to motor.---Not a well understood concept.------There is no GOLDEN RULE for it !!

    Many motors with small problems end up on the market.----Bonus if you know motors and simple trouble shooting.----Many dealers now frown on older motors because the owners are not an easy source of revenue.-----Older motor give you years of low cost boating if you learn the basics.
