    Sharing a berth

I would assume (hope) so. I forgot to ask as I wasn't interested in that arrangement anyway.

    Sharing a berth

That's the idea, but a much, much smaller scale. When the arguments start I'll be happy those guns aren't nearby!

Replacing just the rotted area or whole back of boat/transom?

Most likely partial repair won't even be an option because its very likely all rotten or at least wet. As said above, the stringers are probably gone too. On the bright side doing the fiberglass work isn't too hard once you get the hang of it and there are lots of good sources of info here. Just...

    Mounting bolts

Honestly, I wouldn't know the difference between the two, so I really don't know!

    Sharing a berth

Yeah, far as I know they will be tied side by side and you are at the mercy of how good the fenders are. Its a very sheltered spot inside a breakwater, but still....not for me.

    Sharing a berth

Its a government built wharf with floating docks run by the town. No staff moving boats, just the boat owners. Nobody has responsibility for fenders, ropes etc except the people who own them. Boats mostly 19 to 25 ft or so and definitely no wooly slippers!

    Sharing a berth

Has anybody ever had to share a berth at a dock for the season. I just had to turn down a berth at my local dock because this year they decided to double up on the available berths to accomedate more people. I didn't like the idea of another boat always tied to mine and having to always be...

    Mounting bolts

As long as I get this year out of them. I'll change them next year.

    Mounting bolts

I think that would take a long time and I'm not sure but I think the zinc on the bolt acts the sameas the zincs on a motor. Sacrificial ions so even if some of the steel is exposed it won't rust, but don't quote me on that! Anyway its probably only for this year, I'll probably use stainless next...

    Mounting bolts

Hey everyone. I know this has likely been asked many times before but is there any good reason not to use galvanized bolts to mount the engine on the transom of my boat. I would have used stainless but I was having trouble finding the right size and there were lots of galvanized available so I...

    In the process of Sanding?

I've been sanding the stuff all day and lost count of how many sanding discs I've used. Still not finished.

    In the process of Sanding?

I'm in the process of removing Tremclad rust paint that I put on my hull about 5 or more years ago and can tell you that stuff is durable! It only peeled in a couple of small spots over those years and I didn't do any prep work like priming, cleaning or sanding, just rolled on over old gelcoat...

    smart home opinions

I'm like you, I love my alexa's. I'm not planning any terrorist attacks so the most interesting thing anyone will spy off me is whats for dinner. As for stealing my identity, sometimes you just gotta spin the wheel and take your chances!

Advice on transom , stringers and floor rebuild

I've heard a lot of people saying that about cushioning from the hull. Won't the space between the spacers still be full of PB and not cushioned? I can't see how that helps?

    Thats what I expect too.

    Hope outboard ain't too heavt

It will be well tested in fresh water before hitting salt water. Also I doubt anyone could definitely say "yes this will work or no it won't" when its an I/O boat that wasn't designed for an outboard. Hense "time will tell" (but with lifejackets firmly on!)

Using hose flush to cool engine.

Yeah I'll have a look before I use it. You would think a mechanic would know better.

    Hope outboard ain't too heavt

I just put my 2016 F90 Yamaha outboard on the back of the Grew 194 I/O converion I'm working on. Man that motor looks big and heavy back there! I hope she isn't too heavy on the back end or too top heavy. The old L6 165 i took out weighed more but also sat lower and further ahead. I guess time...
