    I bought a chain lift, whats known around here as an "endless chain". Its good for 2000 lbs. I put a iron pipe in the attic of my garage across 3 or 4 trusses and lifted my motor easily. It was less then 100 dollars.

    You are probably right. You can't go in anywhere here without a mask. Even where I work, I have to put on a mask to walk from my office to the next office.

    Had my first shot about a month ago, my second ain't till August! Masks are still required everywhere here. It will feel weird to not wear a mask by the time this is over! So far we have had only a handfull of deaths so its worth it.

    You don't say the year, but I'm told that if its a four stroke then you do a "leak down test" instead of a compression test. If thats good and she starts good and don't overheat then I'd be thinking you are very lucky! Was it your motor or one you are thinking of buying?

    I doubt the empty space is that empty, likely old rotten wood in the way. Why not just use epoxy glue or thickened resin to secure the base and forget the screws and the rotten oiece of wood? Just make sure the glue don't ozze up enough to interfere with the spinning of the pump.

    Yes you can. Poly resin is what most people use. Most do the PB to fill any gaps and make a curved join and then put glass over that.

    Be careful with the transom. A soft floor is one thing but a soft transom is dangerous. If part of the transom is rotten the the whole thing should be replaced. Most people cut the inside fiberglass layer off and work from there but that looks hard with the splashwell in the way. If you dug out...

    That wood is now full of linseed oil. I doubt that resin will adhere to that. How are you going to join the floor to the hull?
