    1985 9.9 evinrude misfire

Timing light out on the boat, gray or dark sky's and see if your loosing spark or the flash in this case. Sounds spark related. Have you pulled the flywheel?

    1985 9.9 evinrude misfire

You need a spark JUMP tester. Nice, bright blue 3/8 jump. Post two, fuel pump. Have you pump the primer ball to see if it helps? Does gas spray on your hand if you put your hand up close to the carb?

Describe how you tested the spark on your plugs? These parts you swapped, brand new OEM parts?

Johnson 35 with intermittent stream before thermostat opens

You know those pistons are not the original posters engine, right?

5 minutes per bolt....pretty sure you could teach us all!😆🤣

Johnson 35 with intermittent stream before thermostat opens

Yeah, you have outboard cancer and it's getting air from somewhere. Run it until it implodes or buy a used dead motor and steal the parts.

Fuel appears to be inside of my Evinrude E-TEC Engine Management Module (EMM)

Test your battery, as Crosby would say, "no wing nuts"!

Johnson 35 with intermittent stream before thermostat opens

Does it do this on the water or just on muffs/barrel?

Starter mounting bracket stud in front mount broken out casting

No. Rich/lean idle screw should be set correctly... it does not control the idle at least as far as finial rpm. The idle is set with what we call a link and sync so look that up on line and study the videos.

    96 Evinrude 50 Cutting Out

I stopped using the gray hose quite a while ago but they last more than a year. When it first came out I was told it was ethanol resistant. I do not believe that to be true. The clear coating or intertube is what seems to fail causing plugging of the internal fuel passages. The black rubber...

    1996 Evinrude 15HP Stuttering/Surging approaching & at WOT

Not sure you completely cleaned the carb correctly but try this. In a barrel, run the motor at night and look for some flashing off of the coils or coil wires. Seems like it's arcing.

Stalling at Idle and Idle Speed

Check your pulse fitting, if it's black replace it with a new blue one. According to some on here, the fuel pump diaphragm can be replaced inexpensively. Be careful taking the vro apart....small plastic pieces can break.

Stalling at Idle and Idle Speed

Post 11 does not say fuel pump was changed out. If pumping the primer ball cures the problem, then that is the standard repair. Pump diaphragm can tear at any time. Every fuel tank that I have ever been in has a pickup screen and when I run spin on fuel filters I have removed the screens before...

Evinrude 25hp outboard wants to die when I give it gas

I forgot to send the picture. Comes out with a standard small screwdriver.

Stalling at Idle and Idle Speed

Read what? Read that you recommended changing the primer bulb? Fuel pump is not a primer bulb. Maybe I'm not following you correctly.

Stalling at Idle and Idle Speed

Racerone is on to this, most likely fuel pump but follow his steps. Not sure why others are not giving this advice. If I pumped the primer bulb the motor would steady out This tells the story.

Evinrude 25hp outboard wants to die when I give it gas

Again though, to save time....turn in idle circuit screw and count the turns until "lightly seated" write that down. Remove screw. Remove upper plug, remove float bowl nut that has the primer nipple on it. Blow out the original 1st screw that you removed and then flood it with fuel before...

Evinrude 25hp outboard wants to die when I give it gas

The trick to removing the carb without removing the starter is to use a cold chisel to remove the starboard carb nut. Make sure to use your cold chisel marks to install the nut correctly. Now I've done it both ways but this saves you time. I mainly want people to do it "the long method" on here...
