    Odds are, the above statement has not happened. When they mounted the motor there is no reason they put a new cable on if it was working correctly. One nut to remove will explain the whole story. Problem could also be at the helm.

    2 things, in a similar situation my buddy dripped some aluminum in there with his tig welder and tapped it out for me and I've had that same stud fall out before and the starter still performed well. Pretty sure you might have more than one thing going on. JB weld is not going to work.

    Not completely understanding you but from what you said only two things can happen. They broke the stud in the intake area (drill out the stud) or that starter bracket is messed up. (Have it welded) I'm I missing something? You can't "glue" any of that stuff.

    My guess, fuel related. Sucked up some crap. Could be electrical though....so you need to count out one first. Id pull or flush the carb. Did you check to see if it was staying cool? Just because it's peeing doesn't mean it's cooling.

    Your looking for a minimum of around 100 but hopefully more around 120. Up to 130 or 140 would be fantastic. Mainly you want them within 10% of each other.

    Sorry, but the filters help....and they help a lot. On my bigger motors I run 2. In fact, the more I think of it, you can't have enough filters. That screen does a poor job. Just saying.

    That's the crappy one that screens boulders. I install a throw away plastic one on that same line. Pretty sure it's 10 microns.

    Well your motor is not running perfectly. Try the E-tec web site at barnacle bills. Sounds like a loose sparkplugs but probably an injector or something. Don't run the motor until you get it figured out.

    Volts at the starter while it's spinning. Load test the battery with an old school toaster tester not the digital junk. Cleaning the outside of the starter? Look inside.....easy.

    Model number or at least the year if known. Most likely fuel carb related, is your fuel filtered? Either your running to lean or crud in carb.

    What is your voltage at the starter when jumping it? I believe, if I'm remembering this correctly, it shouldn't be less than 10.2 volts.
