    120 hp 2.5 L mercruiser 153 ci carb

The FS is a cooler plug and ES is hotter, hence the reason your plug is longer My info comes from manual 3 which list for 1978 to 84 Manual 2 for years 1974 to 78 just list MR43T and champion RBL8 Manual 1 for years 1963 to 73 list AC - CR44N and could use CR43N for high speed applications

    120 hp 2.5 L mercruiser 153 ci carb

Plug looks a little long for that motor. It should be MR43T, RV9YC, BR6FS Dwell 28 to 34* Timing 8 BTDC The choke needs keyed 12V power so when key is turned ON it's powered. It is grounded to the carb body so no extra wire needed Yes turn screw in until it just touches, then back out 1 1/2...

    1979 Johnson V4 115 HP - Viking Deck

Don't think it would be the fuse unless the fuse is to small amperage and that's real doubtful. Most likely it's wiring, the gauge or sensor. The wires were cut prior so I would say it's the gauge

GS-249 Holding tank pump out question

The macerator is a pump that shreds crap as it's pump overboard. The pump isn't running so you first have to find it. Somewhere between the hole in the side and the tank is the pump "IF" it hasn't been removed Some toilets have a hand pump which just pumps everything straight overboard. Post...

Crank driven vs block mounted raw water pump pros/cons

Never had a crank mounted pump but would be much easier to work on then belt driven. Don't see either with an issue moving water better then the other

    1990 mercruiser 4.3 no spark

If your cranking and all it's doing is back firing, do pull the dizzy noting where it's point now. Doesn't matter where it's pointing only that you know where it is now. Pull dizzy and rotate rotor so that it's 180* and reinstall. So it will be pointing the opposite direction it's pointing now

    AQ131 Questions (Spark Issues)

Looks like VP uses power from the key goes straight to coil when cranking and once started it comes from the ALT thru a ballast resistor item 22 So when the key is ON and not running power comes from both

    Over heat alarm

Welcome To follow up on what Scott mentioned, look and see if the wires are on the correct sensors and have not been miss-wired. This usually won't happen because the sensor connections in most cases are different

    AQ131 Questions (Spark Issues)

Welcome The ballast resistor is the wire it self and don't think there is anything wrong with your coil. Meters are hit/miss with their accuracy and it's hardly never the coil You should have 2 wires on the plus side of the coil. When cranking it should get full 12V and once started the...

    1990 mercruiser 4.3 no spark

The sensor is just a switch. Striking the Wht/Grn is doing the same thing as the sensor. This is the reason it says to strike the wire to ground rapidly several times (not just once or twice) So if it sparks doing the wire and not the sensor, that just shouldn't happen Reason to do the coil...
