    Time for a ‘new’ boat?

In Illinois, single axle trailers increased from $18 to $118 in 2018 and some people had conniptions. I don’t relish paying more, but $118 doesn’t seem unreasonable and the extra money is for repairing our roads. They definitely need some work. I feel for people with multiple trailers, though.

Charging batteries in boat with ACR

This winter, for the first time, I left my batteries in the boat. They are connected via an Add-A-Battery kit (with and ACR and an Off-On-Combine switch). Do I need to disconnect the batteries to charge them individually, or is it good enough to just have the switch in the Off position? Thanks!

    Windows 11 yes/no?

After using Win 11 for a month or so, I'd suggest anyone considering the upgrade should wait until a few major refinements are made. It's pretty buggy and, on my relatively new Dell computer, much slower to boot and wake up. Microsoft has of course loaded it with a ton of useless software and...

I'm sure a minor thing like working toward a PhD won't get in the way of boat restoration! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 What are you studying?

Need help deciding!! Wakeboard boat vs bow rider!?!

Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I'd be much more concerned with the size of the boat than with bowrider vs. ski boat vs. wakeboat. Unless your kids become highly proficient or only want to do wakesurfing, any of those boats will be a ton of fun for them. The real key is making sure you have...

Ski Brendella is it worth it?

Generally, there is not a lot of money flipping old boats, especially 25 year old boats. If you like the boat and want to fix it up for yourself, spending money on it might be worth it. I would not put money into it expecting to recover it on resale.

Have you tried a different breaker, to rule out a defective one?

    trailer dolly?

Unless you want to spend a ton of money, there aren’t many options. We have a tight fit into our garage from a gravel driveway, and the only solution I found was practicing backing in the trailer. Took a while, but now I can zoom it in there in no time (and I’m not the best at backing a...

What is the year, make, and model of this boat?!

It may be very difficult to register the boat or trailer without the paperwork that shows you are the legal owner. Personally, I would not spend any money or any time on the boat until you can get that worked out.

    Windows 11 yes/no?

It was free for me, and I thought I read it woud be free if Windows 10 was legitimately/legally installed on your computer. I certainly would not purchase it if I could avoid it.

    Windows 11 yes/no?

Of course! MS can’t do a major upgrade without forcing a bunch of useless garbage on users. Also. it has a ton of features applicable only to tablets and phones with touchscreens, not to mention all sorts of ‘apps’ aimed at pulling you deeper into Microsoft’s ecosphere. (Stuff like Microsoft...

    Windows 11 yes/no?

I did for my newer Dell desktop. Personally, I’d advise you to wait. File Explorer (and who knows what else) is buggy. The interface is different - not bad, but things have been relocated as MS always does. I have not used it a whole lot, but I was moving a bunch of files and noticed the problem...

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

Sure, it's a balance between our comfort with being able to handle a problem vs. the hassle of lugging around a bunch of stuff that most likely won't be used. For me, carrying spare trailer tires for a long trip makes sense because the likely hood of a tire failing or hitting road debris is...

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

I do dunk my trailer many times a year and I make a couple 1000+ mile trips most years. Stuff can go bad, but there is no reason most of the time if you’re doing proper maintenance.

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

Honestly, I cannot imagine carrying a spare hub for my trailer, any more than I carry spare hubs for my pickup truck. If a trailer is well-maintained, there should be no for spare hubs, spindles, etc. I would bet that 98% of the problems folks have with trailers on the road is due to...
