    1989 Evinrude 88SPL (E88MSLCER) Cooling

Come on Racer help this guy out he wants to go fishing. You often remind me of my automotive tec instructor. He would let’s us a scratch our heads for hours to figure things out on our own and looking back it was a very effective way for us to learn how things worked. But every once in awhile...

I’m just as curious Racer. Should there not be a cutout in the top and bottom of that gasket? I see the ports in the head but no way for water to pass.

    Problems with oversized boat motor

Oh the stupid stuff days. My memory is flying along at 106 mph on a pice of cardboard with twin 235 on it. It’s was actually a 21 foot sonic but it felt like a pice of cardboard. We won the amateur Grand Prix that summer. Good times

What kind of boat is this with evinrude motor

I haven’t seen the vid but will look for it. What you describe certainly sounds like a mullet boat. I grew up with them down in Fl. The nets are run off the stern so the motor is up front. The closest thing I have seen up north here is the Simmons skiff which were originally from the...

    Airbrushing graphics?

Gelcoat can come with or with out wax in the formula. To play it safe I would wet sand the area with 600 paper first and wipe it down with acetone. Do your paint job and clear coat over it. Best

    Got electrocuted when touching cylinder?

Try running the motor at night and see if you can see any arching from the plug wires. I used to have a lawn mower that you had to ground the plug to shut it down. Sometime the ground strap wouldn’t make a good contact and you had to push it a bit further. It was always a dance to see which one...

    Need fuel lines checked

I want to say 7/64 ID for the primer lines. If you broke the brass nipple you will likely need to remove the intake and punch it out from the backside.
