Top piston worth replacing? (120hp low compression)

IF??? you didn't destroy the gasket???? I'd try sealing with silicone and doing another comp test. Sounds like the gasket might have been the problem??? You can also pull the port covers and check the sides of the pistons for damage. The pistons can be replaced singly without breaking the...

    Tilt Cylinders Leaking

Post #68 he said it stopped leaking and still drifted down. That means the shuttle valve in the bottom of the pump needs new seals.

Cobra SX lower unit drain plug will not open

Don't necessarily need an impact driver. A small propane torch and a BFS does the trick.

    1989 force 85hp. model a? b? l?

The difference on a model change can be as small as a screw or a tie/down. Very few big changes in the models?? If you get a service manual for 88/98/90 you should be close. The big changes were in the lower units.

    Force piston rings

The 87 35 was made in 6 different models, all 6 used the same ring set The parts are NLA from the factory but can be found if you look around, I found them on ebay, 114659905379 look up this part quick as it cheap and won't last long. There is a THEIF asking 75$ for a used set so be careful...

    Tilt Cylinders Leaking

Buy what ever you can afford??? The Yamaha and Mercury oils provide better protection and won't breakdown as fast with water intrusion. Amzoil is good but expensive. Myself I've used Walmart gear oil, that's in MY motors. I use the good stuff for my customers. The most important thing: CHECK THE...

Crank no start 4.3, wiring diagram?

You need a factory manual, Seloc probably won't have what you need. Try opening this, it has Volvo links. http://www.boatinfo.no/lib/library.html http://www.boatinfo.no/lib/volvo/manuals/43abcde.html

    Smoke coming from starter solenoid

You can probably use the new solenoid but you have it wired wrong. The new one, the base might need grounding? Get a factory service manual, find the wiring diagram and rewire.

    Force 125 lacking power

If it's been ran in salt water? then I'd think about changing the head gasket. The bolts might be hard to remove?? the corrosion on the bolts can make it hard to remove, take your time or you'll twist the heads off the bolts. If the reeds have minor gaps?? then they'll be ok. They're designed...

Gimbal bearing is stuck on my u joint drive shaft

When you install the drive: the o-rings on the shaft need grease but grease them after they get put on the shaft. Grease under the o-ring can lift the o-ring and can make it hard to install.

    No electric getting to engine

In the shifter the Neutral Safety switch might need attention? Try moving the shifter as you turn the key?? I don't think the AQ131 had a fuse in the system. They did have a fusible link, but this doesn't stop it from running. Test light?? Have someone at the key and try the connectors on the...
